Gabrielle Stravelli will be teaching a class in vocal performance for eight- to twelve-year-olds at the Kings Bay Y in Windsor Terrace, starting at the end of September.
"The class will focus on integrating basic vocal techniques and music theory with practice and performance. Students will learn music from different genres (pop, music theatre, jazz and standards), exploring the story of the song and ultimately memorizing and staging material, culminating in an informal performance for parents on the last class."
The Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace, serving Windsor Terrace, Kensington, and Ditmas Park, offers educational, cultural, social, and artistic programs: music, art, chess, yoga, storytelling, an open play space, "Featured Artist" Wednesdays, prenatal classes, CPR/First Aid for toddlers, Chinese Mandarin classes, holiday celebrations, family events, and more.
