Our borough was the last one scheduled to get the new, higher parking meter rates, and our turn has now arrived. On August 9th, the Department of Transportation began increasing parking meter rates throughout Brooklyn. The new rates are $1.00 per hour for short-term parking (the minimum payment is 25¢ for 15 minutes) and $8.00 per day at all long-term metered spaces.
