To protest the layoffs, Public Advocate Bill de Blasio has launched an online action center for parents at http://www.advocate.nyc.gov/saveourteachers. He has also posted a petition opposing teacher layoffs for parents to sign as well as a sign-up form for a parent day of action on Thursday, May 26th, a day on which parents citywide will gather to oppose teacher layoffs.
