Babbo's Books
In 1981, the BBC broadcast a dramatization of The Lord of the Rings in twenty-six half-hour installments. In 2002, it was released on CD.
Babbo's Books will play the CD of the 1981 BBC dramatization of The Fellowship of the Ring--the first book in the trilogy--in its entirety over the course of four evenings. Ian Holm stars as Frodo, and Gerard Murphy narrates.
On June 9th, they'll begin with the first disc, in which Frodo learns of the Ring and sets forth from Bag End.
Each segment is about 1 hour and 10 minutes long and will begin playing promptly at 8:30.
Babbo's will serve refreshments and snacks.
A $3 donation is suggested.
