Domestic Workers' Bill of Rights Information Session
Sunday, May 22nd, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Join local parents and members of the Employers for Justice Network for an informal and informative overview and discussion of the New York State Domestic Workers' Bill of Rights that went into effect on November 29, 2010.
Hosted by a member of "Employers for Justice," a project of Jews for Racial and Economic Justice (JFREJ), this gathering is a chance for people who have a caregiver working in their homes to learn about the new legislation that provides basic employment guidelines for housekeepers, nannies, and eldercare givers. Members of JFREJ, which was instrumental in the bill's passage, will talk about the bill. This is also a chance to speak with others who employ caregivers about the challenges and benefits of employing a valued caregiver in your home.
The session will take place at 235 Windsor Place, between 10th and 11th avenues, in Windsor Terrace. Childcare will be provided.
