Budget cuts have caused the cancellation of this year's Macy's Fishing Contest in Prospect Park. The contest was scheduled to be held from July 13th through 17th.
An annual event since 1947, Macy's Fishing Contest was open to children ages fifteen and younger. Fishing equipment was provided to participants who didn't have their own. All of the fish that were caught were released back into the water.
