The Church Avenue BID is about to launch Uncover Church Avenue, a public arts contest funded by AvenueNYC. The plan is to install murals on the solid roll down gates and buildings along the west end of Church Avenue with the hope of attracting new business to the area. Local artists will submit designs, and community members will have the opportunity to choose the winning installations. The BID is also in talks with a few of the local schools to host a special kids' design competition.
The program launches on Wednesday, October 5th, at Bonnie Youth Club (1221 Church Avenue, off Westminster Road). The program description and Save the Date announcement are below. The program description says that the date of the Launch Party is "TBD" (to be decided), but the date is October 5th.
