COMMUNITY BOARD 12'S BUDGET REQUESTS

Public Hearing on Community Board 12's Budget Requests
for Fiscal Year 2013

followed by
Community Board 12 Public Meeting
7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Community boards are mandated by the City Charter to participate in the annual budget process. Each board determines what its community's needs are and presents a list of those needs to its constituents every September.

At the Public Hearing on the Community Board 12 budget for Fiscal Year 2013 (July 1, 2012-June 30, 2013), board members and the public can comment on the Capital Budget and Expense Budget Priorities and Requests as well as add requests that would fill a need in the district. The board will then vote on the budget and submit it to the Office of Management and Budget. The steps in the budget cycle are listed here.

As an example of the board's requests and their outcomes, read a description of each request made for FY 2012 (July 1, 2011-June 30, 2012) and the recommendation made for each in "Register of Community Board Budget Requests for the Executive Budget Fiscal Year 2012." Capital Budget Priorities and Requests are on pages 429 to 436, and Expense Budget Priorities and Requests are on pages 437 to 439. The recommendations are based on the availability of funds in the Executive Budget adopted by the City Council and other factors.
