A SPACE FOR PEOPLE, NOT CARS, AT CORTELYOU LIBRARY PLAZA

PARK(ing) Day
Friday, September 16th, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

A parking space at Cortelyou and Argyle will turn into a park for one day this Friday, as it has for the past four years. Sustainable Flatbush will build a park in front of Cortelyou Library for PARK(ing) Day, a day dedicated internationally to converting parking spaces into public sites.

Sustainable Flatbush will offer the public a puppet show, live music, art projects, a writing workshop, and a hula hooping class as well as workshops about sustainable city living--composting, gardening with native plants, and renewable energy.

PARK(ing) Day, in a nutshell, is a day of advocacy for increasing the amount of open space in cities that would be accessible and usable for individuals.
