GREEN BEANS NOT WALGREENS! GREEN BEANS NOT WALGREENS!

"What do we want?" "Green beans, not Walgreens!"

Former customers of Windsor Terrace's now-closed Key Food--as well as other residents who are sympathetic to their situation--continue to stand together in opposition to Walgreens leasing the Key Food space and its refusal to listen to the community's suggestions about how to make enough fresh food available for the neighborhood.

More than 2,000 people, representing more than 16% of the neighborhood, have agreed to boycott Walgreens and have signed pledges committing themselves to it.

Neighborhood residents have now dubbed their group Green Beans Not Walgreens and started a website of the same name (www.greenbeansnotwalgreens.org). The site will be the central gathering place for information and action. The name was adapted from a chant at a previous rally opposed to Walgreens moving into a supermarket's space.
