Residents were surprised when they learned that DJ Jewelry was moving, since it had been in the same location on Church Avenue for more than forty years. Fortunately, it didn't move out of the neighborhood, it only moved two blocks away. The store has moved to 305 Church Avenue, between E. 3rd and E. 4th streets, next to MF Discount and where H&R Block used to be.
DJ Jewelry demonstrated its commitment to the neighborhood earlier this year when it donated earrings from PinkCalyx.com to P.S. 130's Second Annual Spring Dance and Auction.
This is the third retailer in recent times to relocate to a different block on Church Avenue. Sigalit Flower Shop moved from next to Korner Pizza to next to Yen Yen in November 2010, and Astro Cleaners moved in early 2010 from where Soho Cafe and Grill now is to next to Golden Farm.
