The Eminent Irish of Green-Wood Walking Tour

Tour the graves of notable Irish people buried in Green-Wood Cemetery. Their many accomplishments cover a variety of endeavors: Marcus Daly, a "Copper King;" India Ink manufacturer and American patriot Charles Higgins; one-armed Civil War General Thomas Sweeney (who retired from the U.S. military but went on to lead the Fenian invasion of Canada); the widow and son of Irish patriot Wolfe Tone, 1763-1798; actress and mistress of the mighty, Lola Montez, 1821-1861 (Eliza Gilbert), and many others.

The tour may be hilly and strenuous, so wear comfortable, supportive shoes.
