Community Meeting with Golden Farm Employees
Tuesday, March 20th, 8:30 p.m.
Golden Farm employees continue to need the community's support. The community is invited to meet with them to talk about the latest updates on the negotiations and the next steps to take.
The good news is that since the big march and rally on February 11th, the workers haven't been retaliated against. And for the first time since they started organizing in December 2010, owner Sonny Kim was set to start negotiating with them.
But after days of negotiations and attorneys’ meetings, the Golden Farm workers’ demands are still not being heard. Mr. Kim is not listening to their demands for a contract that will protect all employees, and he refuses to pay the back wages he owes them.
The employees need community support. Keep demanding that Mr. Kim respect his employees workers and also improve their working conditions.
Call Golden Farm at (718) 871- 1009 and ask for Sonny Kim, the owner (not Steve Kim, the manager). Tell him to respect the employees' right to their back wages and a contract that guarantees job protection.
The community meeting will be held in the cafeteria in P.S. 230 at 1 Albemarle Road, between McDonald Avenue and Dahill Road.
