St. Patrick's Day Parade

The theme of this year's local St. Patrick's Day Parade is
The Intertwined Histories of Ireland & America
Bicentennial of the War of 1812:
"America's 2nd War of Independence"
The parade will start at Bartel Pritchard Square at Prospect Park West and 14th Street, march down 15th Street, turn right onto 7th Avenue, turn right onto Garfield Place, turn right onto Prospect Park West, and march back to the starting point.
Grand Marshal of the parade will be John Ridge, Vice President for Local History of the New York Irish History Roundtable. In the parade will be Irish step dancers and bagpipe players.
At 9:00 a.m., before the parade begins, Mass will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 245 Prospect Park West, between Windsor Place and Prospect Avenue.
The parade is organized by the Brooklyn Irish American Parade Committee, formed in 1975.
