If you see or have problems, fill out the Hurricane Sandy Report Form
to let City Councilmember Brad Lander's staff know about outdoors problems caused by the storm, such as hanging or fallen tree limbs, clogged
storm drains, and so on.
Power outages: Report any power outages to Con Ed at (800) 75-CONED.
Trash collection: DSNY will collect trash and recycling on Monday if storm conditions allow it. See nyc.gov/sanitation for updates.
MTA: The subways, buses, and commuter rails have already been shut down. How long service will be suspended for isn't known. How long it'll take to restore service after the suspension ends also isn't known.
PATH: PATH train service and stations will be shut down at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, October 29th, until further notice.
Amtrak: Amtrak shut down Northeast Corridor service north of New York as of 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. It has canceled nearly all
service on the eastern seaboard on Monday.
Parking:
Alternate side of the street parking regulations and rules for parking
meters and muni-meters will be suspended on Monday.
Driving: Stay off the road as much as possible because conditions may
become dangerous and trees may be lying in the road.
Schools: Public schools are closed on Monday. CUNY schools are closed on Monday.
Libraries: All three public library systems will be closed on Monday.
Senior centers: Senior centers will be closed on Monday and Tuesday.
Parks: All city parks were closed as of 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
