To celebrate the 85th anniversary of the opening of the Cyclone roller coaster, Luna Park at Coney Island will host its "Cyclone Roller Coaster 1st Annual Charity Coasterthon" on Saturday, June 9th. Our neighborhood's very own Sean Casey Animal Rescue (SCAR) is one of only twelve non-profit organizations that were chosen to participate in this fund raising event.
Two lucky (unlucky?) representatives from each organization will have the opportunity to try not to lose their lunch while riding the roller coaster for ten hours, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Support SCAR by donating to the riders for each cycle they complete (for example, you can donate $2 per ride or $3 per ride--or any other amount) or by donating a flat fee via PayPal by June 16th.
In addition to the money raised that way, Luna Park will donate $24,000 to the organization whose riders keep riding for ten hours.
Cheer Sean Casey Animal Rescue on in person while enjoying food, music, and other festivities. SCAR will have a booth with adoptable pets and will be selling t-shirts.
