UPDATE: The picketing planned for Wednesday night at the New Jersey house of Sonny Kim, Golden Farm owner, has been canceled. It will be replaced with a rally outside of Golden Farm at 329 Church Avenue, at the corner of E. 4th Street (probably at 6;30 p.m.).
During the "Week of Action," which begins today, an event will take place every day or evening in support of current and past employees of Golden Farm and to encourage the store's owner, Sonny Kim, to pay employees the back wages owed to them as a result of paying them below minimum wage and not paying an overtime wage. The New York State Department of Labor ordered Mr. Kim to pay, but he hasn't.
You're invited to participate in all of the events listed here or whichever ones meet your comfort level.
On May 2nd, employees will vote on whether to join a union.
