BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT MEETING: LA LECHE LEAGUE


                 La Leche League Breastfeeding Support Meeting
             Wednesday December 20th, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

La Leche League meetings
are free and open to all breastfeeding and pregnant parents, moms, babies, grandmothers, and women interested in breastfeeding or chestfeeding. The next meeting in Windsor Terrace will be held on Wednesday, December 20th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The doors will be opened at 10:50 a.m.

Some of the topics that are frequently covered are
  • How can I get breastfeeding off to a good start?
  • How do I know if my baby is getting enough?
  • How often should I expect to feed my baby?
  • What does a "typical" feeding look like?
  • What is paced bottle feeding?
  • How can I work with family and others' expectations about feeding my baby?
  • What about solids?

Bring your babies and your thoughts, questions, feelings, and experience to share with others. La Leche League embraces all kinds of families and feeding arrangements.

BREASTFEEDING CONVERSATION AT NURTURE (FREE)


La Leche League Meeting
Wednesday, March 1st, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Breastfeeding mothers, pregnant women who are planning to breastfeed, babies, grandmothers, and other women who are interested in breastfeeding are welcome at La Leche League meetings. The meetings are free of charge.

The Windsor Terrace group meets at Nurture{BKLN} on the first Wednesday of each month, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Upcoming meetings in 2017 have been scheduled for
  • Wednesday, March 1st,
  • Wednesday, April 5th,
  • Wednesday, May 3rd, and
  • Wednesday, June 7th.

Founded in Illinois in 1956 by seven mothers, LLLI is now in sixty-eight countries. The mission of the non-profit, non-sectarian organization is "to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother."

KENSINGTON LA LECHE LEAGUE MEETS TOMORROW

Tomorrow's Kensington La Leche League meeting will be the last one until the fall. The meeting starts at 11:00 a.m. and ends at noon. La Leche League International (LLLI) is a mother-to-mother breastfeeding support group. It's open to mothers who are breastfeeding, babies and other children, and women who are interested in breastfeeding. 205 E. 4th Street, between Caton Avenue and Albemarle Road.

CHANGE IN SCHEDULE FOR LA LECHE LEAGUE IN KENSINGTON



The schedule for Kensington's La Leche League meetings has changed. The meetings are now on Tuesdays instead of Wednesdays. The schedules for Windsor Terrace and Park Slope are unchanged.

KENSINGTON LA LECHE LEAGUE WILL MEET AGAIN

Kensington La Leche League
Wednesday, January 11th, 11:00 a.m.

The first Kensington La Leche League meeting of 2012 will take place this Wednesday. If you'd like to find out the details of the meeting (including its location), send an e-mail to Heather at hezmez @ optonline.net.

This is the group's third meeting, so participants are still getting to know each other. The women range from mothers-to-be who are expecting their first child to mothers who have toddlers.

La Leche League International (LLLI) is a mother-to-mother breastfeeding support group that's open to all. Mothers who are breastfeeding, women who are pregnant and are interested in breastfeeding, and children of all ages, are welcome to attend the meetings.

KENSINGTON LA LECHE LEAGUE WILL MEET THIS WEEK

The group got off to a great start earlier this month with a wide range of moms--from women expecting their first child to moms with toddlers--showing up to give and get breastfeeding support.

La Leche League International (LLLI) is a mother-to-mother breastfeeding support group that is open to all. Founded in Illinois in 1956 by seven mothers, its mission is "to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother."

LLLI is international (in sixty-eight countries), nonprofit, and nonsectarian. Mothers who are breastfeeding and women who are pregnant and are interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend meetings. Children of all ages are welcome.

KENSINGTON LA LECHE LEAGUE GROUP BEGINS TOMORROW

A La Leche League group will have its first meeting in Kensington tomorrow morning (Wednesday, November 2nd). Meetings are tentatively set for Wednesday, November 30, 2011,and Wednesday, January 11, 2012.
