HAND OUT HEALTHCARE FLYERS AT MAYOR'S TOWN HALL

Flyering for Healthcare
Tuesday, May 16th, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The proposed New York Health Act (A4738; S4840) would provide universal, comprehensive healthcare to every New Yorker. It would replace private insurance coverage. The act would establish a New York Health Trust Fund to pay medical bills.

When the bill was introduced in a previous legislative session, the Assembly passed it. The Senate, however, killed it.

In the current legislative session, the Democrat-controlled Assembly has already advanced the bill to Third Reading. When bills reach the Order of Third Reading, they become ready for a final vote.

The Republican-controlled Senate, however, is again an obstacle to passage of the bill. The Senate has stalled the bill in its Health Committee since it was introduced two months ago.

Informational flyers explaining the benefits of the proposed universal, single-payer New York Healthcare Act will be distributed to the audience at a free town hall meeting with Mayor Bill deBlasio in Borough Park, Brooklyn.

Flyering will be done from 6:30 to 7:30. Ting Barrow will bring the flyers; meet him inside the school at 6:30.

If you have any questions, send an e-mail to Ting at ting.barrow @ gmail.com or call him at (347) 961-0231.
