Tuesday, May 16th, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Join a community postcard-writing event on Tuesday, May 16th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., to save the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
1. Write to the House Republicans who voted to repeal and replace the ACA and let them know that Americans are furious. The organizers will have the names and addresses of all of those Representatives and some talking points. They will provide postcards and stamps.
Come with your anger and your personal stories and be ready to write. The Republican healthcare bill will go back to the House after the Senate works on it, and the House needs to hear our fury.
2. Write to members of the Senate Republican healthcare working group (a working group with no women in it) and let them know that this bill is not acceptable.
3. Write to moderate Sen. Susan Collins of Maine and conservative Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky and ask them NOT to support a repeal and replace bill in the Senate.
4. If you have not checked out Swing Left yet, a computer will be ready with some districts where you may want to make a donation to flip a district blue.
Food, beer, and wine will be available from the Butterfunk Kitchen menu.
