Free Mammograms and Clinical Breast Exams
Thursday, May 25th, 9:00 a.m. to noon and 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Get a mammogram, whether you do or you don't have a lump or any other signs or symptoms of breast cancer.
On Thursday, May 25th, Assemblymember Robert Carroll is co-sponsoring free breast cancer screenings in cooperation with the American Italian Cancer Foundation in its Mobile Care Clinic. The foundation has been offering free mammograms since 1987.
A digital mammogram--an x-ray of the breast--and a clinical breast exam will be provided to women aged forty or older who live in New York City and who haven't had a mammogram in the past twelve months.
No co-payments are required; deductibles are waived.
The screenings will be done at these two libraries:
- Borough Park Library, 1265 43rd Street, between 12th and 13th avenues, from 9:00 a.m. to noon,
- Cortelyou Library, 1305 Cortelyou Road, between Argyle and Rugby roads, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Make an appointment for either library by calling the American Italian Cancer Foundation at (877) 628-9090.
