SIP INTO SPRING GALA AUCTION FOR P.S. 230
Sip into Spring Gala Auction
Saturday, April 16th, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Each spring, the P.S. 230 PTA hosts the annual "Sip Into Spring." The proceeds from Sip into Spring go directly toward supporting the various arts residencies at P.S. 230.
To raise funds for these programs, the public is invited to participate in the school's biggest event of the year. Enjoy music, dancing, BBQ bites, and drinks.
Brooklyn jazz musician Brian Newman will perform. Brian is a trumpet player, a singer, and Lady Gaga's jazz bandleader.

- General: $55.00 per person
- Sponsor: $125.00 per person. The price will help offset the cost of the teacher/staff tickets. It includes raffle tickets worth $30, which will be available at the event.

MAN WANTED FOR ATTACKING WOMEN IN KENSINGTON, PARK SLOPE, AND ELSEWHERE
The man in the video and on the wanted poster is suspected of attacking at least five women--four of them in their 70s and up--in separate incidents in several neighborhoods. The most recent attack was on an 84-year-old woman at Ocean Parkway and Beverley Road on Saturday.
He is armed. He is described as in his 40s to 60s, about
5-feet-11-inches tall, and weighing 250 pounds. He wore a dark
hoodie, a black jacket, a black wool cap, black gloves, dark shoes, and
light pants,

USING SIMULTANEOUS TRANSLATION EQUIPMENT TO BENEFIT LOCAL PARENTS AND STUDENTS
Submitted by a delegate on the Participatory Budgeting Education Committee:
A friendly reminder that the annual Participatory Budgeting vote is upon us. We get to choose how our City Councilmember, Brad Lander, will spend $1.5 million of his budget.
There are MANY worthy capital projects (you get to choose up to five), but I want to make a pitch for the expense fund project I’ve been working on on behalf of P.S. 130 and several other diverse, multi-lingual schools in City Council District 39 (which includes much of school district 15 and some of district 20).
Our local schools need your vote for the Translation Equipment for Multi-Lingual Schools project. This will provide transmitters and head sets for P.S. 130, P.S. 131, P.S. 179, P.S. 230, and M.S. 839 so that translators can provide simultaneous translation, making meetings and school events accessible for non-English speakers.
We encourage everyone in our community to get out and vote for this project.
All residents of New York City Council District 39 (much of school district 15 and some of district 20) who are age 14+ are eligible to vote, regardless of immigration status. All you need to bring to a voting location is an ID, a utility bill, or some other document that states your name and address.

ALTERNATE SIDE SUSPENDED TWICE MORE THIS WEEK
Alternate side of the street parking regulations--normally in effect on weekdays and Saturdays so that streets can be cleaned--will be suspended on Thursday, March 24th, for Purim and Holy Thursday and on Friday, March 25th, for Good Friday.
All other regulations, including those for parking meters, will be in effect.

Community Board 12 announced today that it will not hold its monthly meeting this month. The board announced that tomorrow night's monthly General Meeting has been canceled because of Holy Week and Purim. The date for the April meeting has not been announced yet.

GIRL SCOUT COOKIE SALE RESCHEDULED
UPDATE: The April 3rd sale has been canceled because of the very strong wind. To be rescheduled.
The Girl Scout cookie sale has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 3rd, from noon to 3:00 p.m., in front of Thai Tony's.
The date for the sale at P.S. 10 remains the same: Friday, May 6th, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Seven types of cookies are being sold this year, for the price of $4.00 per box:

- Thin Mints (vegan) -- round, mint-flavored cookies with a delicious chocolaty coating

SNOW WARNING, TRAVEL ADVISORY, AND ALTERNATE SIDE SUSPENSION
A travel advisory is in effect from tonight (Sunday) through tomorrow morning. Alternate side parking will be suspended tomorrow (Monday) to facilitate snow removal. Payment at parking meters will remain in effect throughout the city.
Snow is expected to begin falling at about 9:00 tonight and will end by daybreak tomorrow, with a chance of lingering snow showers through the morning commute. A total snow accumulation of two to four inches is anticipated.
Tonight's temperature is expected to be around freezing, so exercise caution and be prepared for slippery roads. As tonight's temperature drops below freezing, untreated surfaces can cause slick conditions. Allow extra travel time during your commute.

WHERE TO SAFELY GET RID OF HARMFUL HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTS
NYC SAFE Disposal Event
Sunday, April 3rd, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
New York City residents can dispose of harmful household products safely at this upcoming Sanitation Department SAFE Disposal Event ("SAFE" = "Solvents, Automotive, Flammables, and Electronics").
Only New York City residential waste will be accepted. No commercial vehicles are allowed. Residents must provide proof of living in New York City, such as their New York State driver’s license or a utility bill.
Because the disposal events are popular, you may wait on line.
The event will be held rain or shine.

- Automotive products, such as motor oil, transmission fluid, and spent batteries
- Personal care items, such as unwanted medicines or cosmetics
- Thermometers
- Syringes (clearly labeled and packaged in a "sharps" container or other leak-proof, puncture-resistant container)
- Household products, such as pesticides, paint, hazardous cleaners, and spent compact, fluorescent light bulbs
- Electronics
