ROUND-UP OF SERVICE SUSPENSIONS CAUSED BY ALL THAT WHITE STUFF

It's 3:30 a.m., and it's quite a mess out there.

Access-A-Ride paratransit service has been canceled for Thursday, except for medically necessary trips, such as dialysis, radiation treatment, and chemotherapy. For medically necessary trips, call Access-A-Ride Reservations at (877) 337-2017. Press 2 for Reservations.

MTA New York City Transit buses and MTA Bus have suspended service throughout the city. Some subway lines ended service earlier than scheduled.  Other lines are operating as local trains. NYC Transit has canceled all planned service changes through Thursday morning.

Since 12:25 a.m., there hasn't been any F train service between Church Avenue Station and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue in both directions. Snow and ice-fighting equipment are being used along all outdoor subway lines.

Alternate side of the street parking and parking meter regulations are suspended citywide until further notice. All other parking regulations are in effect. Garbage collection is also suspended.

Senior citizens should call ahead to the senior centers they attend before going outside because some of them will be closed.

While snow is falling, the city doesn't take complaints about snowy or icy sidewalks. After the snow stops, property owners have to clear a path for pedestrians and also remove snow from sidewalks next to bus stops and hydrants.
  • If the snow stops falling between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., property owners must clear sidewalks within four hours.
  • If the snow stops falling between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., property owners must clear sidewalks before 11:00 a.m.
If the sidewalks aren't cleared within those time frames, the city can issue property owners a summons.

That's all for now, folks. Good luck out there.
