PARKING, METERS, AND GARBAGE COLLECTION SUSPENDED

As of 6:15 p.m. tonight (Tuesday, January 11th), alternate side of the street parking regulations and garbage collection are suspended citywide until further notice to facilitate snow removal, and parking meters rules aren't in effect.

Vehicles blocking a roadway or impeding the ability to plow streets will be towed at the owner's expense. Notify 311 immediately if you see a car impeding the Sanitation Department's snow removal efforts.

If your car or other vehicle gets stuck in the snow, try to move it out of the way of traffic. If you can't move it, call a tow truck to move it. Abandoning it will delay--or even halt--efforts to remove snow.

If you're in an accident, move your vehicle to a safe portion of the roadway, if possible.

Travel on major thoroughfares, whenever possible. Try to avoid driving on secondary streets, which are typically cleared last.

Call 911 only for emergencies. Call 311 for all other assistance.
