И УС ЛУГАМ ДЛЯ ИММИГР АНТОВ"

A Russian-language edition of the "Immigrants Rights and Services Manual" has been posted online. The manual's full title is "Immigrants Rights and Services Manual: Important Information You Need to Know to Participate in the Life of New York City." Issued only in English in July 2010, the manual had since been translated into Chinese, Spanish, and Korean and posted online.

This resource was created to help immigrant New Yorkers learn about their rights and responsibilities, government benefits, and government programs.

The topics covered are
  • language access rights,
  • deportation and detention,
  • public benefits,
  • health care and insurance,
  • education,
  • domestic violence and trafficking,
  • workers’ rights,
  • tax returns,
  • housing,
  • citizenship,
  • lawful permanent residence,
  • voting and civic participation,
  • consumer and financial rights,
  • immigration consultant fraud, and
  • services for small businesses.

The majority of the information in the manual is useful for everyone living in New York City, whether an immigrant or not.
