Compost for Brooklyn's (C4B) accomplishments in 2011:
- tons of organic waste collected
- outreach to Brooklyn schools
- events for discussing urban waste management
- Award from Citizens Committee for NYC
- composting in the P.S. 217 cafeteria
- on-site compost pick-up service
- composting introduced to the Cortelyou Road Greenmarket
- compost given to community members for public greening projects
C4B is looking for tax-deductible donations to its all-volunteer organization. Especially since a neighbor is going to match donations made through January 13th--dollar-for-dollar--up to $500, making $500 into $1,000. Any size donation is welcome--$5, $10 or $100--and is needed to buy tools, equipment, seeds, and plants.
Donate $100 or more and get a C4B t-shirt for free.
