CROSSROADS CLOSED

Crossroads To Go on Joralemon Street

Best wishes to Suzanne Meehan and Yasmin Gur, who have closed Crossroads Cafe on Prospect Avenue after eight years.

Crossroads To Go, a takeaway coffee and food stand on Joralemon Street next to Brooklyn Borough Hall, which they opened five years ago, will continue to serve the many borough employees in the vicinity and the multitude of others whose lives bring them downtown.

Suzanne and Yasmin will be adding a new item to their offerings: ice cream and Italian ices made for Crossroads to Go by JT Ice Cream. If you have a frequent buyer card, you can use it at Crossroads to Go.

CROSSROADS CAFE IS FOR SALE

Crossroads Cafe is for sale. The cafe opened in 2008. From September 14th of this year until the end of November, the location served as a cafe by day (Crossroads Cafe) and a wine bar by night (Nanny Goat Hill Wine Bar & Kitchen).

The asking price for key money is $190,000--that includes all of the equipment, the inventory, the kitchen, and the take-out window. Rent on the new ten-year lease is $1200 per month. A wine and beer liquor license is already in place. The cafe was renovated this past June.

The most recent online ad says "This listing is Off the market!," but the realtor said yesterday (Friday) that it hasn't been sold yet.

CROSSROADS CAFE: NEW HOURS, GENERAL MANAGER, AND SEATING

From Crossroads Cafe:
Dear Friends, Customers, and Neighbors,

We are happy to announce several changes to Crossroads. Starting May 2, we are now open until 8pm everyday, and our takeout window is open from 6:30am - 9am Monday to Friday.

In addition we now have a General Manager, Rado Ganev, who comes to us from Ceci Cela in Soho. At Ceci Cela, Rado was the general manager for both of their retail locations before heading their wholesale division in Williamsburg. He has many years of experience in the cafe industry and is very excited to be working in our community. Rado has been working at the cafe the last few weeks, so some of you may have already met him. Please feel free to approach Rado with your concerns or requests. (Compliments are welcome too)

Rado will be in charge of the day to day operations at the cafe, and will be rolling out several new menu items the next few weeks, including seasonal salads, sandwiches, and crepes. In addition we will be offering tarts and cakes of all sizes, as well as custom cakes for special occasions.

Rounding out our team at the cafe are Luis, Tabrin, and Lucy, all experienced baristas with several years of customer service between them. They are all settling in and getting to know our customers as you get to know them. Thank you for welcoming them.

In addition to our staffing changes we are in the process of renovating our space to bring you more seating and more display area for our products.

Yasmin and I will be focusing on the downtown location, Crossroads To Go, but you will still see us at the cafe and we will continue to work behind the scenes to bring you the best that Brooklyn has to offer in baked goods and cafe food and service.

Thank you for your support. We appreciate your business.

Yours truly,

Suzanne T. Meehan
