66TH PRECINCT NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME, 2025 (FREE)

 
National Night Out Against Crime
 Tuesday, August 5th
5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
 
Join the 66th Precinct, 66th Precinct Community Council, and Community Board 12 for National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 5th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
 
Highlights of the evening will include free food, drinks, ice cream, rides, bounces, games, giveaways, and more.

National Night Out Against Crime is held annually on the first Tuesday in August. The National Association of Town Watch created the event in 1984. 

Prior to that, in the 1970s, as one aspect of the Women's Liberation Movement, women created their own non-governmental, grass-roots event--called "Take Back the Night"--with the goal of protesting and deterring violence against women through their visible presence outdoors.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

NEW LOCATION: 66TH PRECINCT NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME, 2024 (FREE)


 
National Night Out Against Crime 
Tuesday, August 6th
5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
 
Join the 66th Precinct, 66th Precinct Community Council, and Community Board 12 for the annual National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 6th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Highlights of the event will include free food and drinks, ice cream, rides, bounces, games, giveaways, and more.

66th Precinct Community Council Meeting
Thursday, January 18th
7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Residents, business owners, and elected officials are invited to meet the 66th Precinct's Commanding Officer, Captain Kenneth Herrarte, at the 66th Precinct Community Council's monthly meeting.

Captain Herrarte was appointed to the 66th Precinct in September 2023. He started his service with the NYPD in January 2006.

His predecessor was Captain Jason Hagestad, who had been the Commanding Officer since January 2021.
 
The in-person meeting will take place on Thursday, January 18th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

The Community Council is the liaison between the public and the NYPD.
