COOLING CENTERS OPEN TODAY AND TOMORROW

Because today's heat index is expected to exceed 95 degrees and tomorrow's may exceed 100 degrees, New York City is opening its cooling centers. They're located in air-conditioned public facilities and are for use by people who are experiencing physical discomfort from the heat.

Our neighborhood has several cooling centers. Call ahead to make sure they're open. Two of them are
