- Throw away any plastic bags, including compostable biobags, at the front gate trash area. Or better yet, bring your food scraps in a reusable container.
COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
Wear masks and gloves when handling compost bins>.
- Allow 6 feet of space between you and another person in the compost area.
- If we get overwhelmed, we can suspend collection with no advance notice to ensure sanitary conditions in our garden.
PLEASE NOTE
- This is a volunteer run site with limited space. We do not have the capacity to fill the void of the suspended City run organics programs.
- Our compost committee is actively working to create sustainable compost capacity to serve our neighborhood.
Please follow us on Facebook @East Fourth Street Community Garden. If you drop off food scraps on a regular basis, we would appreciate your help processing compost when we will welcome volunteers once again.
