VOTE FOR WINDSOR TERRACE LIBRARY'S DISPLAY AND BIKE THE BRANCHES


The Windsor Terrace Library is one of the top 10 finalists for the "Bike The Branches Book Display Contest." Vote for the Windsor Terrace branch's display here.
The House of Windsor proudly presents its submission for the Bike the Branches Book Display Contest. We wanted our display to reflect Curious George’s inquisitive nature. Our display includes books, music CDs and DVDs all about Curious George, bikes and of course our collection in general.
 
Taking inspiration from the original book about the curious monkey, we recreated the scene where George first sees the mysterious yellow hat. The yellow hat is what sets the stage for the events that follow. Like George’s adventure through the city, we hope patrons will also become a little curious about our branch in our beloved borough of Brooklyn as they Bike the Branches.

On Saturday, May 9th, ride in Brooklyn Public Library's 3rd Annual Bike the Branches. The bike ride is from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The ride will be followed by a closing celebration from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.--a block party at The Plaza at Central Library (at Grand Army Plaza), with food vendors, live music, activities, and awards.
 
Tours for bike riders to participate in include
  • Citi Bike Tour,
  • Galleries, Museums, and Maker Spaces Tour,
  • Literary Brooklyn Tour,
  • Then and Now Tour, and
  • Waterfront Tour,
with more tours to be announced.

Register for Bike the Branches here. Registration fees are
  • $20 per adult ($10 per senior, age 65 and up),
  • $10 per child,
  • $40 per family of up to two adults and three children,
  • $100 per team of up to 10 people.

The money raised will be used for direct support of Brooklyn Public Library to help provide vital services, programs, and resources.
