The Pitta family is closing the family-owned, family-operated Pitta Funeral Home and selling its properties after 65 years of service to Kensington. They haven't set a date for closing the business.
The family owns three adjacent properties: 300 McDonald Avenue (the funeral home itself, next to Pet Haven Animal Hospital), 10 Caton Avenue (Brooklyn's Famous Car Wash), and 19 Dahill Road (the house next to the car wash).

John Pitta founded the business. He was still its owner at the time
of his death in October 2013. Mr. Pitta was waked there; his funeral mass
was at Immaculate Heart of Mary.
