The police arrested and charged Md.
Rasel Siddiquee with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in yesterday's murder of Kensington businessperson and landlord Mahiuddin Mahmud.
They
had sought Siddiquee for questioning in the murder of Mahmud, his landlord. At 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, they arrested him at JFK Airport with a "substantial amount
of money." Mr. Mahmud's family had said that about $20,000 was missing
from the open safe in his office.
News12 Brooklyn reported this morning that Siddiquee has confessed.
The Bengali community in Kensington is mourning the death of Mr. Mahmud. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
