The P.S. 230 PTA will hold its first children’s clothing and costume swap at the P.S. 230 lower school on Saturday, October 17th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 

 

Bring gently-used clothing or costumes to donate (if you have any). Only donate clothing that doesn't have stains, rips, or holes and are in good repair.  

 

Whether or not you bring something, you're welcome to take something.

From the P.S. 230 PTA:

The PS 230 PTA is holding a toy drive for our school community from Monday, December 8, through Monday, December 15. We are looking for toys for kids age 5-15 (new, unopened, no clothing or stuffed animals). 

Donation bins are located in both our Upper School (1 Albemarle Rd) and Lower School (425 McDonald Ave) lobbies or gifts can be purchased from our Amazon wish list at https://a.co/coxZ2ye (or go to https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3BHY1LAAPL3BM/ref=hz_ls_biz_ex). 

Any shipped gifts must arrive by December 15.

Join the PTA for a FREE clothing swap!

Bring clothes that don’t fit your kids. Drop them off for someone else to take.

Take clothes that do fit - all for free!

PLEASE: no clothes with stains, rips, or holes. Only bring clothes in good repair.  

Children’s clothing only! All clothes at the end of the swap will be donated.

Brooklyn PTA Fun Run

Saturday, October 25th

9:00 a.m. to noon

 

About P.S. 230 and the Brooklyn PTA Fun Run:

The  Brooklyn PTA Fun Run is a family-friendly event where Brooklyn PTAs and community members of all ages come together to run/bike/scoot/walk around Prospect Park loop road (approximately 5K).

 

What’s unique about the Fun Run is that it brings dozens of schools together to raise money together for Brooklyn schools who have/had Title I status in the past three years (i.e., 60% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch).

 

This is one of the only community-wide fundraisers where money is pooled and redistributed to PTAs that have less capacity to raise their own funds. Last year, the Fun Run raised over $18,000 for area schools!

The Hummingbird Festival

The Singing Winds and the P.S. 230 PTA will present free activities for all ages at The Hummingbird Festival, a multicultural "back-to-school" picnic.

 

The free celebration of Kensington's cultural diversity will take place on Saturday, September 21st, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., in Albemarle Playground.

Highlights will include arts and crafts, amusement rides, and games as well as dance, music, and storytelling.

Hummingbird Festival

The Hummingbird Festival is a "Back to School Celebration" that's open to all neighborhood residents. Hosted by The Singing Winds and the P.S. 230 PTA, it's a free celebration of the neighborhood's cultural diversity.

The festival will take place on Saturday, September 17th, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will feature free outdoor activities for all ages, including crafts, games, amusement rides, storytelling, music, and dance, including
