P.S. 230 Toy Drive

From the P.S. 230 PTA:

The PS 230 PTA is holding a toy drive for our school community from Monday, December 8, through Monday, December 15. We are looking for toys for kids age 5-15 (new, unopened, no clothing or stuffed animals). 

Donation bins are located in both our Upper School (1 Albemarle Rd) and Lower School (425 McDonald Ave) lobbies or gifts can be purchased from our Amazon wish list at https://a.co/coxZ2ye (or go to https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3BHY1LAAPL3BM/ref=hz_ls_biz_ex). 

Any shipped gifts must arrive by December 15.

Now that the December holidays are almost upon us, Community Board 7 has announced that it will be accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys and clothing for its annual holiday gift drive. 

 

The gifts are for children from infants to sixteen years old. Bring them to CB 7's office from November 3rd to December 17th, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

You can drop off new toys or coats at my District Office - 416 7th Avenue Monday – Friday between 9:30am-4:30pm through Tuesday, December 17th. 

The District Office will be closed tomorrow for Thanksgiving and on Friday, but will re-open on Monday, December 2.

Holiday Toy Drive

November 14th through December 18th

Community Board 7 welcomes donations of new, unwrapped toys for disadvantaged children from infants to 18-year-olds for its annual Holiday Toy Drive. The toys will be distributed through local human services agencies to children in family and domestic violence shelters.

 

Toys will be accepted at the board office through Wednesday, December 18th. The office is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

CLOTHING AND TOY DRIVE AT COZIE'S PIZZERIA

Cozie's Pizzeria and Cafe is collecting donations of gently-used or new coats, hats, scarves, and boots in youth and adult sizes, new toys, etc. for families seeking asylum.

According to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, 

"Every year people come to the United States seeking protection because they have suffered persecution or fear that they will suffer persecution due to:

• Race
• Religion
• Nationality
• Membership in a particular social group
• Political opinion"

Cozie's was originally accepting donations through December 10th, but they'll also be accepting them this Saturday afternoon, December 23rd.

Bring new, unwrapped, pocket-size toys to Elk Cafe, to be donated to unhoused people. The toy drive will run through Saturday, December 23rd.

 

The toy drive is sponsored by Xavier Mission, a secular and independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

TOY DRIVE AT 72ND PRECINCT COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING THIS MONTH

 

72nd Precinct Community Council Meeting

The 72nd Precinct Community Council's next meeting with the public and the NYPD will be held in person on Tuesday, December 12th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Talk with the precinct's Commanding Officer, Deputy Inspector Krystin Suarez, its Community Affairs Officers, and the Neighborhood Coordination Officers (NCOs) for each of the precinct's sectors.

Everyone who lives or works in Windsor Terrace, Greenwood Heights, South Slope, and Sunset Park is invited to the meeting to discuss past crimes and learn the precinct is doing to prevent future crimes. Find out about the types of crime that have been taking place, their frequency, any enabling factors, and how to prevent them.

Members of the public are invited to voice their concerns about criminal activity, including armed robberies, rape and other forms of sexual assaults, home break-ins, burglaries in local stores, bank robberies, speeding drivers, stolen bicycles, package theft, and other crimes.

 

Donations of new, unwrapped toys for the 72nd Precinct's toy drive are welcome.

Denny's Pub will hold its annual Christmas party and toy drive on Friday, December 1st, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

 

The price of admission is an unwrapped toy with a minimum value of $25. Toys will be donated to the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots program for children in need. Denny's asks that toys be child-appropriate--no toy guns, for instance.
