FREE LOCAL FOOD RESOURCES: FOOD PANTRIES, MOBILE FOOD PANTRIES, FOOD DISTRIBUTION SITES, AND MEALS

Get free food. Or donate food for others. Or donate money so that others can buy food directly.

To help tackle the chronic problem of food insecurity, a number of free food resources have been operating in Kensington, Windsor Terrace, and points beyond. Before visiting these locations, call to make sure they're not closed for the day or longer or permanently. Some sites require a phone call in advance to register.

In response to the federal government's shutdown and the looming threat of SNAP benefits expiring as of this Saturday, November 1st, New York "Governor Hochul Declares State of Emergency and Initiates New Actions in Response to Trump Administration Cutting Off Food Assistance to Nearly 3 Million New Yorkers Starting November 1," bringing the total amount of state funds allocated to $106 million.
