VISION ZERO TASK FORCE FOR COMMUNITY BOARD 7 HAS ITS FIRST MEETING

Vision Zero Task Force
Tuesday, July 22nd, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Community Board 7's Vision Zero Task Force will set its goals tonight at its first meeting. The temporary committee, chaired by Joan Botti, will aim to further the mission of the Vision Zero Action Plan in ways that are specific to the neighborhoods within Community Board 7.

The public is welcome to attend meetings of Community Board committees.

Vision Zero is Mayor Bill de Blasio's plan to use enforcement, education, and engineering to completely eliminate pedestrian and cyclist traffic fatalities throughout New York City within ten years.

The city agencies partnering with City Hall in this effort to save lives are Department of Citywide Administrative Services, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Department of Transportation, New York Police Department, and the Taxi and Limousine Commission.

The NYPD and the Department of Transportation have been tasked to "Develop borough-wide safety plans in close coordination with community boards, community organizations, and the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit."
