Chand Raat Bazaar
Sunday, July 27th, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Celebrate the last day of the month of Ramadan, the month of fasting, at the 6th annual Chand Raat Bazaar. When the new moon is seen, welcome Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar, and the arrival of Eid Al-Fitr, the day of breaking the fast.
The bazaar will feature fashion, jewelry, clothing, arts and crafts, henna painting, face painting, and games. Guests will include celebrities, elected
officials, and religious and community leaders.
Admission to the bazaar is free.
American Council of Minority Women** hosts the event. Women established the American Council of Minority Women in 2005 for the empowerment,
development, protection, and promotion of human rights of women in the
United States, and particularly in New York, in
the social, legal, educational, and economic sectors.
