As a woman was crossing E. 4th Street near its intersection with Church Avenue, a man was backing his car into a parking space. Not seeing her, he knocked her to the ground with his car. People walking nearby stopped, lifted up the car, and pulled the woman out from under it.
According to a witness, police on the scene described what had happened as entirely an accident. The woman probably has a broken arm. No charges will be filed.
