MOBILE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

K9WaTch (KWT Canine Watch) is a free, all-volunteer safety service that will harness the power of neighborhood residents who are already outside in the evening--people who are walking their dogs.
The service will start when there are at least twenty dog owners registered to participate. That goal has almost been reached. Dog owners, please fill out a Volunteer Application on the K9WaTch website!

Volunteers are also needed to help spread the word about K9WaTch by distributing flyers and by talking about it at community meetings.

The group has been encouraging dog owners in the Kensington-Windsor Terrace area to walk their dogs near our local subway stations--the two ends of the Fort Hamilton Parkway station and the Albemarle Road end of the Church Avenue station. They can stay at a station for a specific amount of time (fifteen minutes, thirty minutes, or whatever amount of time they can spare), stay until a train arrives, or escort women home.

People without dogs are also welcome to participate by pairing up with another K9WaTcher.

Six local businesses and one community organization are sponsoring KWT Canine Watch. All of them donated to this cause without hesitation. The sponsors are Cynthia King Dance Studio, Sean Casey Animal Rescue, brooklyn-real, Chino's Deli, Parkview Realty, Brooklyn Commune, and KARMABrooklyn.
