ROCKY'S PIZZERIA IS NAMED TO THE HALL OF FAME
Eater NY agrees with the locals that Kensington has got some fine pizza.
Eater NY's senior critic, Robert Sietsema, named Korner Pizza as one of his ten favorite New York City pizzerias in July. He inducted Korner and the other nine pizzerias into the Eater NY Neighborhood Pizzeria Hall of Fame.
This month, he chose ten more favorites to induct, and Rocky's Pizzeria is one of them.
At Korner, "The regular cheese slice is perfection itself." And at Rocky's, "The plain cheese slice is great, but why not go for the more spectacular ziti slice."
For a pizzeria to qualify for the Hall of Fame, "It must sell pizza by the slice; cook its pies in stacked gas ovens that burn at around 550 degrees or below; and, in general, not be part of a chain with multiple outlets."
Korner is at 226 Church Ave., at the corner of E. 3rd Street. Rocky's is at 474 Coney Island Avenue, at the corner of Church Ave.
