GET ACQUAINTED WITH THE NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL IN WINDSOR TERRACE BEFORE IT MOVES HERE

As of the 2017-2018 school year, M.S. 442 will be located in the former Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School at 500 19th Street, between Prospect Park West and 10th Avenue.

Bishop Ford's two current occupants will stay put: Brooklyn Urban Garden Charter School (BUGS), a middle school, and K280, P.S. 10's Pre-K program.

M.S. 442, the Carroll Gardens School for Innovation (CGSI), is "a screened school that seeks to create a diverse student body and inclusive school culture."

Students live in the surrounding neighborhood as well as in other parts of Brooklyn and other boroughs, but the preference is for students who live in District 15.

All of the classrooms for all of the grades (grades 6, 7, and 8) are Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classrooms. They include students with and without disabilities, and they feature two teachers: a general education teacher and a special education teacher.

The next monthly PTA meeting will be this Tuesday, October 18th, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Agenda items include CGSI's move to Bishop Ford and the Principal's Report.

Families with rising 5th graders in District 15 are invited to sign up for a tour of M.S. 442. Tours are conducted on most Tuesdays and last for one hour. One adult per child can be accommodated.
