THE HUMMINGBIRD FESTIVAL: A MULTICULTURAL "BACK-TO-SCHOOL" CELEBRATION


The Hummingbird Festival
Saturday, September 17th, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Singing Winds at P.S. 230 will present The Hummingbird Festival, a multicultural "back-to-school" celebration, in Albemarle Playground, with free activities for all ages.

At 11:00 a.m., Higher Levin (founded in 2006 for students at Meyer Levin School for the Performing Arts in Brooklyn) and Triumphant Stars will perform steel pan music.

Also at 11:00 a.m., crafts, games, and mask-making will take place.

At noon, dance and storytelling will feature P.S. 230 alumni and friends, Cetiliztli Nauhcampa performing an Aztec dance, Latin Dance Fever dancing salsa and merengue, Los Tecuanes de San Rafael, Bangladesh Institute of Performing Arts, and more.

Albemarle Playground is behind P.S. 230. Enter on Dahill Road, between Albemarle Road and 12th Avenue.
