OCEAN PARKWAY CLOSURE DURING HALF MARATHON ON OCTOBER 8TH
Rock 'n' Roll Brooklyn Half Marathon
Saturday, October 8th, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Ocean Parkway and other Brooklyn streets will be closed or partially closed on Saturday, October 8th, for the second annual Rock 'n' Rock Brooklyn Half Marathon. The marathon will start at 7:00 a.m.; the time limit on running is four hours.
All of Park Circle, from Parkside Avenue to Ocean Parkway, will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Ocean Parkway's inner lanes, from Park Circle to Avenue P, will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The 13.1094-mile race will begin at the Brooklyn Museum. From there, participants will run on Eastern Parkway, enter Prospect Park and loop around it, exit from Parkside Avenue onto Ocean Parkway, and continue on to Avenue P, returning to Prospect Park via Ocean Parkway and finishing at the Nethermead. For three years--from 2011 through 2013--a Rock 'n' Roll Brooklyn 10K was run within Prospect Park. The race wasn't held in 2014. In 2015, the inaugural half-marathon was instituted.
