CELL PHONE STORE ROBBED AT GUNPOINT

Two armed men assaulted an employee in a cell phone store in Kensington yesterday (Friday) and stole about fifty cell phones worth $20,000.

At about 1:30 p.m., the two went into the store (possibly a T-Mobile, but not the one at 115 Church Avenue) and asked the lone employee, Mahtabul Bhuiyan, if he buys cell phones off the street. One of them then walked around to the back of the counter, pulled out a gun, and made Mr. Bhuiyan lie on the floor. The men then punched him repeatedly in the back of his head while holding the gun to his mouth. Then they ran out with the phones.

Mr. Bhuiyan recognized the men as having been in the store a few days before the attack. He said the men would have taken more if another customer hadn't entered the store.

No suspects have been identified.
