KENSINGTON PLAZA DEDICATED AND READY TO BE ENJOYED

In the photo: Councilmember Brad Lander (in the tie) and Mr Haq, the new chairperson of the Church McDonald Bangladeshi Business Association (at right, in the windowpane plaid shirt), planting flowers at the Kensington Plaza dedication.

The sidewalk extension in front of Walgreens is now officially Kensington Plaza, with benches and granite blocks to sit on and five trees.

At Sunday's dedication, City Councilmember Brad Lander thanked the people who helped bring the plaza into existence.

Catherine Zinnel, Mr. Lander’s District Director, handled the almost two-year-long process of converting the sidewalk extension into a plaza. Representatives from the Parks Department, the 66th Precinct, Kensington Plaza Stewards, West Kensington Action Group, Albemarle Neighborhood Association, KARMABrooklyn, and the Church McDonald Bangaladeshi Business Association all attended the ceremony.
