UKRAINE: THE DONATED CLOTHES AND BEDDING IN KENSINGTON NEED TO BE PACKED

Update: Facebook is glitching again. If the URL in the blog post doesn't work, go to Ukraine Support in Brooklyn - hosted by FJC at www.facebook.com/Brooklyn4Ukraine. There, you'll see a post for Organizing Clothing/Bedding for Incoming Refugees. Hopefully, that link will work.

 ---------------------------------------------------

During the donation drive for humanitarian aid for Ukraine, so much was donated that it's still being packed up!

On Wednesday, people are needed to sort the bags of clothes and bedding, pack them in clear plastic bins, label them, move large bags of clothes to one spot, and identify which clothes can be donated locally immediately and which will be saved for incoming Ukrainian refugees.

If you can donate clear plastic bins, that would be helpful.

Sign up for a Wednesday, March 23rd, shift from either 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at https://www.facebook.com/volunteer/signups/1164127484397046/?source_component=volunteering_event&source_surface=timeline.

If you don't use Facebook, e-mail Dina Garfinkel at dinagee@gmail.com.

From the warehouse, Meest-America will ship the supplies for free to International Charitable Foundation Meest in Lviv to be dispersed to selected Ukrainian charity relief organizations.

UKRAINE: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN KENSINGTON TO SORT AND PACK ITEMS DONATED FOR HUMANITARIAN RELIEF

Update, March 8th: A new Facebook page for Flatbush Jewish Center's Ukraine support work has been set up. Follow it to see the latest updates and requests about the donation drive and humanitarian relief to Ukraine. The URL for "Ukraine Support in Brooklyn - hosted at FJC" is https://www.facebook.com/Brooklyn4Ukraine.

------------------------------------------------------------

Update, March 4th: The Facebook link didn't work for some people. If you tried to sign up for a shift of sorting, packing, etc. but weren't able to, please go to this link instead: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10BBSlOM36APpMef76T1M35A4BJXu-au9-AZHGU3Qzjw/edit#gid=0.

Sunday shifts have been added to the Friday and Saturday shifts, since MEEST won't be able to pick up the donations until next week.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Before MEEST-America goes to Flatbush Jewish Center (FJC) next week to pick up the more than two hundred bags of items that were generously donated, volunteers are needed to sign up for shifts at FJC to sort, organize, and box or bag the items and then label the boxes and bags. That will ease the burden on the Ukrainian relief organizations that will be distributing the donations.

Sign up at https://www.facebook.com/volunteer/signups/3179350078999529 for Friday, March 4th, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and/or Saturday, March 5th, between 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
