Update: The activities scheduled for Sunday, July 24th, have been canceled because of the unhealthily hot weather.

PLAY and Street Marker Activities with Street Lab
Sundays, July 17th through August 28th, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

From Street Lab:
"Come PLAY at a pop-up, portable, customizable obstacle course with street games and physical activities, and draw with STREET MARKER, an installation featuring chalk and custom chalk tools to draw, mark streets, and create expansive murals on Beverley Rd between Church Ave and E 2nd St, in Brooklyn.

Thanks to our host in this location, District 39 Council Member Hanif’s Office. Made possible with funding from NYC Department of Transportation."

Street Lab's calendar for Beverley Road is posted here.

The block of Beverley Road between E. 2nd Street and Church Avenue is part of DOT's Open Streets program on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Grand Opening was on Saturday, June 25th, and the last Open Street will be on Sunday, August 28th.

What is the Open Streets program? From "Open Streets" at https://www1.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/pedestrians/openstreets.shtml
"New York City’s Open Streets program transforms streets into public space open to all. These transformations allow for a range of activities that promote economic development, support schools, and provide new ways for New Yorkers to enjoy cultural programming and build community.

NYC DOT works with community-based organizations, public, private, and charter schools, and groups of businesses to execute Open Streets citywide."
From Street Lab's website:
"Street Lab is a nonprofit that creates and shares extraordinary programs for public space across New York City—pop-up reading rooms, open-air drawing studios, and more. We do this work in order to improve the urban environment, strengthen neighborhoods, and bring New Yorkers together. We also send kits around the world so that others can do the same."
