Brooklyn St. Patrick's Parade
Sunday, March 20th, 12:30 p.m.
The theme for the 45th Annual Brooklyn St. Patrick's Parade is "The Gathering of Irish Immigrants, Prospect Park."
As in previous years, the parade will begin in Windsor Terrace at Bartel-Pritchard Square at Prospect Park West and 15th Street. From there, paraders will march down 15th Street, turn right onto 7th Avenue, turn right onto Garfield Place, turn right onto Prospect Park West, and march back to 15th Street.
The Parade Grand Marshal is Martin Maher, Brooklyn Borough Commissioner for the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, who had been tapped for that role for the 2020 parade.
The day's festivities will include live music, face painting, Irish dancers, marching bands, antique cars, and more.
At noon, marching units will assemble on Prospect Park West, from 15th Street to 9th Street.
At 12:30, a "Rededication Ceremony" in remembrance of the Heroes & Victims of 9/11-WTC will be held at Bartel-Pritchard Square at Prospect Park West and 15th Street. The parade will step off from there at 1:00.
A pre-parade Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 245 Prospect Park West, between Prospect Avenue and Windsor Place.
The Brooklyn St. Patrick's Parade is the oldest one in the borough, having been held annually
since 1976. If not for the parade being canceled in 2020 and 2021 because of the
COVID-19 pandemic, this would have been the 47th annual parade.
