MUSIC OUTDOORS ON CHURCH AVENUE IN KENSINGTON

 

Church Avenue Sessions
Thursday, October 7th, 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
 
Two groups of neighborhood musicians--Sam Bardfeld Trio and Michael Bates' Acrobat--will perform at the next installment of the monthly music series Church Avenue Sessions. 
 
The session will be held outdoors in the courtyard of the Flatbush Jewish Center on Thursday, October 7th, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A ticket costs $10, payable at the gate.
 
The members of the Sam Bardfeld Trio are Sam Bardfeld on violin, Jacob Sacks on piano, and Michael Sarin on drums. Sam Bardfeld is a member of the Jazz Passengers and collaborates frequently with Bruce Springsteen.
 
Michael Bates’ Acrobat is Marty Ehrlich on clarinet, Mazz Swift on violin, Sara Schoenbeck on bassoon, Michael Bates on bass, and Michael Sarin on drums. The quintet, led by bassist/composer Michael Bates, features five voices exploring the music of Dmitri Shostakovich.
